"As a native of the Nebraska Sandhills, the prairie grasses and overall organic landscapes have always been an essential part of my life. I utilize these natural elements in firing my pieces to enhance the one of a kind effects. The uniqueness and spontaneous results mirror my personality and artistic ambitions.
While developing as an artist over the years, I sought a new way of looking at my work. I began to realize there is more than meet the eyes in my finished artwork. As an artist, visually communicating my thoughts, I understand how to interpret the end results. I know the time and effort put into each piece relays a message to the viewer, whether apparent or not, a story unfolds. From beginning to end the creation of my work is, in essence the art itself. Because people are provoked to ask questions about my ceramics, I am able to visually communicate my thoughts through surface and form."
